These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between The Separation Companion (Katherine Waterhouse) and clients who use our services. By booking a session or purchasing a package, you agree to these terms.
Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, contact us at kw@theseparationcompanion.co.uk before booking.
The Separation Companion provides practical and emotional support to people going through separation and divorce. This includes, but is not limited to, co-parenting support, communication support, financial remedy guidance, court form assistance, McKenzie Friend attendance, mediation preparation and separation admin support.
This service does not constitute legal advice. Katherine Waterhouse is not a solicitor and is not qualified to provide legal advice. Information and guidance provided is based on lived experience and general knowledge of the process. Where legal advice is required, clients will be directed to seek independent legal counsel.
The initial 20-minute call is free of charge and carries no obligation. It is an opportunity to discuss your situation and assess whether our services are a good fit.
Hourly sessions are charged at £65 per hour. The minimum charge per session is one hour. After the first hour, time is billed in 15-minute increments at £16.25 per increment.
Hour packages are available as follows:
Package hours never expire and may be used across any service we offer. Packages are non-refundable once purchased.
McKenzie Friend court attendance is charged from £295 for a half day and from £495 for a full day, including pre-hearing preparation and post-hearing debrief.
The Intensive Day (6 hours of focused support) is charged at £375.
Travel required for in-person sessions or court attendance is billable and will be agreed with the client in advance of any appointment.
Payment is required in full before any session or work begins. We accept payment by bank transfer. Details will be provided upon booking confirmation. Sessions will not proceed until payment has cleared.
The free 20-minute initial call may be cancelled or rescheduled at any time with no charge.
Paid sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge provided at least 24 hours' notice is given before the scheduled start time.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a cancellation fee of £15, which will be deducted from any package hours held or invoiced separately for hourly clients.
In exceptional circumstances (serious illness, bereavement or family emergency), fees may be waived at our discretion. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
